David Arnold Hopson, age 56  died unexpectedly on December 20th while preparing to bring joy to others this holiday season. He married Shelly Stacy on November 17, 2001. Born October 11, 1957 in Monroe, Michigan, he was the beloved son of Jack and Alice (Pierce) Hopson. David was a 1975 graduate of Bedford High School and  1979 graduate of Michigan State University.  He was currently employed in the IS Security Department at HCR Manor Care and a long time member of First Unitarian Church of Toledo.

David is survived by his loving wife, Shelly.  Also surviving are his mother, Alice Hopson of Temperance, MI, sister, Claudia (Dean) Newton of Sylvania and brother, John (Nannette) of San Jose, CA. His in-laws, Theda and Harry Stacy of Tipp City, OH, brother-in-law, Ryan (Jane) Stacy of Tipp City, OH and sister-in-law, Holly Stacy of Riverside, OH.  His memory will forever be cherished by his beloved nieces and nephew:  Mollie, Alice Mae, Jillian, Emma, Sophie, Evan and Lily. Over the swamp comes a long low call the winds in the trees and the birds are free —- Part of my soul answers to that call —- in my heart beats the rhythm of the wind and the wings and I am one with loveliness ……….
